Now that Christmas is over, and New Year’s is almost here, we are starting to get ready for the next big holiday, which is, of course, International Quirkyalone Day (February 14).
Here’s an email from a lovely librarian in Scott County, Iowa, who will be creating a quirkyalone-themed display in her branch.
Good afternoon–
I am trying to design a display for my library to be put up during the Valentine’s season that celebrates quirkyalones rather than the typical romance books. I’ve only found a few titles that feature characters that would fit the “quirkyalone” type and was wondering if you would have any recommendations that I could use. Any information that you could share would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

P.S. I am a quirkyalone and I love your website.
In response, I gave Michele these suggestions: Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke; The Vagabond by Collete; Vagabonding by Rolf Potts (a great inspirational guide for those who follow the quirkyalone siren to explore extended travel); The Exes by Pagan Kennedy for a male quirkyalone; and many more are listed in the “Reading List” of Quirkyalone: A Manifesto for Uncompromising Romantics by ME.
